NCHIVE is a six member boy group from South Korea under AUBEMOON STUDIO. They made their debut April 9, 2024 with their first single album “DRIVE”. We had the opportunity to ask the group a few questions to get to know them better!
Can you please introduce yourself?
E.aN: Hello, I’m E.aN, the cheeky main vocalist of NCHIVE.
H.AL: Hello, I’m H.AL, the reliable leader of NCHIVE!
Kangsan: Hello, I’m Kangsan, the strong man of NCHIVE.
YUCHAN: Hello. I’m Yuchan, the sweetheart of NCHIVE.
Juyoung: Hello, I’m Juyoung, a 19 year-old who is in charge smiles for NCHIVE!
N: Hello! I’m N, the youngest and coolest member of NCHIVE!
“Drive” had an interesting and unique concept. What is one concept that you would be most excited to try in the future?
E.aN: I would like to try a genre where my vocals can stand out, or a song with a group chant where I can show more teamwork.
HA.L: Our debut album Drive has both powerful and refreshing concepts, and I would like to try something that feels more refreshing, cool, and bright!
Kangsan: I would like to do a song that is wistful, mournful, and overwhelming.
Yuchan: I really like the song Life Goes On by BTS seniors, and I want to try a concept like that. I want to sing about the emotions I felt while listening to that song.
Juyoung: As a group that shows a diverse musical spectrum like our team name, I would like to show a different concept from our first album, personally a teenage concept!
N: I would like to do a refreshing concept like a dolphin!
Please describe in a few words what the past few months have been like for you since your debut.
E.aN: I feel like we've gone through a lot of growth through our music broadcasts, fan meetings, and activities in Japan.
HA.L: Since our debut, we've been doing music broadcasts and interacting with our fans through various events! We've been ambassadors and held fan conventions in Japan, so we're happy to see how much our fans love us!
Kangsan: I finished my first debut album safely, but I couldn't make it to [the] fancon due to an injury, so it was very difficult. I'm working hard on rehabilitation exercises to recover from my injury, and I hope to recover soon so I can go on stage and meet my fans in person.
Yuchan: Since my debut, I've had a lot of happy days thanks to the attention and love of many people. We went to Bondo, and we were inducted as ambassadors for Chungcheongnam-do, and so much more!
Juyoung: During our 1st album activities, we showed our charms on music broadcasts and held events with our fans! We recently went to Japan for a fan convention and performed in front of our Japanese fans!
N: We are so happy to have received so much love from our fans from before our debut to now! We are so happy that we have had so many opportunities to meet with SAVE since our debut! We hope to make many happy memories with SAVE and NCHIVE in the future!
After successfully completing your first fan-con in Tokyo, what would you say was the most memorable moment from that night?
E.aN: It was amazing to see that more and more fans came as we worked harder and harder, and some fans even recognized us when we were walking around on our days off with the members.
HA.L: The last concert was especially memorable because there was a surprise event prepared by the fans themselves, and more people came than the first time and filled the venue to capacity, which made me cry! I remember crying a lot because I was so touched and happy!
Kangsan: We were together for about three days, but my favorite memory was crying with our fans at the last performance.
Yuchan: On the last day of our official concert, our fans gave us a secret event, and I was so emotional when I saw it, and even after the concert was over, I couldn't forget that scene. I still remember it so much.
Juyoung: I used to fall asleep thinking about so many moments, but the most memorable moment was when I saw the video letters that our members secretly took! I cried so much then!
N: After [the] fancon, I was hungry and stumbled upon some jjamppong! I was so happy to find such a fantastic jjamppong!! I remember eating it so much!!
What is your goal as NCHIVE? / Where do you see yourselves in a few years?
E.aN: I want to be the star of the era, and I want to start an era of Nchive.
HA.L: We're going to fulfill our goals one by one! First of all, we want to win the rookie of the year award! We have bigger goals, but we want to fulfill them one by one!
In a few years, I think I'll be on a bigger stage with a lot of fans, happily spending every day with them!
Kangsan: To top the Billboard charts! We'll accomplish our goals one by one
/ In a few years, I think a lot of people will like our music and recognize it.
Yuchan: Our goal is to create happy memories and memories with many listeners, just like our team name. I hope to be the coolest person in the world a year from now.
Juyoung: Our goal this year is to win the Rookie of the Year award!!! / In a few years, we'll be performing in front of tons of fans at Gocheok Dome!
N: I want to get the number one spot on a music broadcast!!! I see myself as an adult in a few years!
In one word, how would you describe NCHIVE’s style/sound?
E.aN: Nchive is always looking for new styles/sounds, so I guess you could say it’s unexpected
HA.L: Strange! New! I want to approach our sound/style in a new way!
Kangsan: Our style is that we don't have a specific style! We don't want to be limited to any one thing; we want to show you a variety of things!
Yuchan: We are fearless in the face of so much competition!
Juyoung: Our style is like a colored pencil (we have various charms like various colors). Our sound is like a speaker ballroom on max [volume] (we have a confident and active personality anytime, anywhere)
N: Rainbow!!! The team that captures various colors like a rainbow is NCHIVE!!!
Are there any people or other groups in the industry you see as a role model or look to for inspiration?
E.aN: Baekhyun from EXO and SuperM.
HA.L: I look up to SEVENTEEN seniors as my role models! I felt that the energy that SEVENTEEN seniors conveyed was really big! I could feel the energy even when I watched their videos, so I decided to become a singer who could convey that energy!
Kangsan: I have a lot of seniors that I look up to, but I'm the type of person who believes in myself, and I'll work hard with that belief.
Yuchan: I have a lot of seniors that I really like, but first of all, I admire and want to be like EXO's Kai and SHINee's Taemin, and I want to be a team that delivers strong energy like SEVENTEEN.
Juyoung: SEVENTEEN is my role model! When I was younger, I watched videos of them having fun with their fans, and I wanted to create a stage where I could have fun with my fans, so SEVENTEEN became my role model!
N: For me, Yang Jungwon of ENHYPEN!
Do you have any hobbies you enjoy in your free time?
E.aN: I'm all about watching anime or sleeping to replenish my energy.
HA.L: I love watching dramas and movies!
Kangsan: Watching dramas and movies!!! I'm really into scary movies these days, so I'm watching a lot of them!
Yuchan: I watch a lot of anime during my breaks, and sometimes I like to go out and play by myself! I like to be outside rather than on my phone, so that's how I spend my days off.
Juyoung: Nowadays, I like to watch dramas that I'm behind on and sometimes I like to draw!
N: I play games on my phone!
Any words of wisdom or encouragement for your fans who are also thinking about pursuing their dreams just like you did?
E.aN: I think self-objectification is the most important thing, and if that's what it takes, I think it's all about not giving up and pushing through to the end.
HA.L: Don't give up!!! Let's go all the way! You can do it!!! There will be a lot of hard things, but let's not break down, let's get stronger and get through the hard things that will happen!!! You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!
Kangsan: I hope you don't mind if I give you some advice or encouragement, but if you work hard and think you can do anything, you can definitely achieve your dreams. Don't be afraid to try.
Yuchan: It's not an easy road, but if you don't let the waves and winds sway you, you'll soon see the beautiful sky. You can do it.
Juyoung: There will be many moments when you feel like giving up, but if you don't want to create moments that you'll regret later, you have to take your time, however long it takes, even years, so I hope you don't regret it and challenge yourself to the end.
N: Everyone!! Do everything you want to do!!

Ted Park Interview
Last Saturday August 3rd Puerto Rico had its first ever Water Splash Festival “KBeat Fest” and I had the opportunity to interview some of the artist who attended. We got the opportunity to interview Ted Park for his first time in Puerto Rico.
Interview Ted Park:
Since arriving in Puerto Rico what has been your favorite thing?
I’m not extremely familiar with Puerto Rico but I used to live in a Spanish Harlem, so I used to eat a lot of Dominican food like I’ve had some Puerto Rican food before, I’ve had rice and peas, BBQ, chicken and pork. You know, I love plantains.
I think one of the biggest blessings of doing this music, like I’m form a very small city in the Midwest called Madison Wisconsin so getting to travel to all this places and get to experience just the vibes, the food, the people, its just so crazy seeing how the culture might be a little different. People are very nice, and people are very friendly here.
Who has been your biggest inspiration since starting your career?
Definitely, my parents because. At first when I told my parents about everything, we don’t have a lot we are from very humble beginnings even if I don’t make it in music, I’m going to apply everything I learned and I’m going to teach someone. They were like ok, it not just about being rich and famous. Even when I was struggling, they helped me through it and even to this day whenever I go to Korea they go to my shows. They love listening to my new music.
The energy has been so welcoming and kind. I’m looking forward to doing my best and putting a special show for the people in Puerto Rico.
Which elements do you enjoy in the process of making music?
I’m very free spirited so I kind of just free style it, have fun, whatever comes naturally. I think my biggest joy of music is sharing the vibes with people. With all the sad thing going on in the world I’m able to create and use my art, no matter how much time, to bring joy, have fun and go crazy.
If you were to have a Latin or Puerto Rican collaboration which artist would you like?
I would love to do something with Bad Bunny. Every time his music comes on like everyone started going crazy. So, I was like I got to make something like that because I’ve never seen anyone move like that to my songs. The rhythm and the swag are so cool.
They say the Hispanic and Latin community is very intense and energetic, so in that line, what are your expectations for tonight?
The Latin fans are crazy, now that we came straight to the source, like I’ve never had expectations. My only expectation is anyone who wants to meet me I want to make it happen. I like to get personal with people, have a good time.
Now that you say you’re on the source, you’re in your 10th year as an artist what have you seen from Puerto Rico that you want to apply on your music? The ambiance of anything that you’ve seen or heard.
The next music I’m putting out is going to be turn up, straight base, a little bit of everything some afro beat. I’m going to try some new sounds today in this show specifically.
What is the main message you want to convey through your songs?
Some of my music might be very deep and motivational, while others might be a little crazy; but that’s just because there’s multiple sides and dept to my personality as a human being. Making music is the one chance I have for people who choose to listen, my message is do what you love because life is so short. I feel like this year is really flying.
What motivated you to come to Puerto Rico?
I didn’t pull up to not go crazy. I believe in determination, where there’s a will there’s a way. I didn’t expect to come here this year, so this is a very pleasant surprise and I’m very honored. I just want to do my best to bring my songs to Puerto Rico. Its very beautiful to see Puerto Rico embrace Korean music and culture and I’m very happy to be here.
I have a collaboration with a KPOP idol coming next month. Its crazy, it was kind of random, this producer I met from Italy asked me if I could go to Sony studio in LA and it went viral in Italy. He said Yo my friend from Pentagon Kino has this song so I’m going to perform it tonight.

Even though he injured his leg he still pulled through and performed with full out energy. It was crazy, he was jumping and dancing with one leg. The crowd was screaming and dancing, everyone was having so much fun. As promised in the interview he performed his latest song. He was also joined on stage for his last songs by the impulse dance team. It was amazing, hope he can come back soon with a new Latin inspired song.
Hope you enjoyed the interview, don’t forget to check out Craxy’s interview and will upload soon Alan Z’s interview. Until next time.

Who has been your biggest inspiration during your career?
My godmother is APink. When she was in middle school, she went to the APink concert, and they were a big inspiration for her to become an idol and now she’s here.
Seeing the audience reaction to the concert you had here, what is a song you are excited to perform in the event?
Definitely “Stupidz” since it’s from our recent album.
What made you say yes to come to a water festival this time in Puerto Rico?
It was very fun. They thought ‘Oh this is going to be so much fun’. Also interacting with Puerto Rican fans is very fun.
How did your participation in KCON last year made an impact for your latest album?
We want to communicate with the fans, so for the next comeback we want to be able to achieve that.
Expectations for today?
We want to be able to communicate with everyone.
What is your mission behind your music?
We like to perform music that represents our name Craxy which means crazy and sexy. Giving a crazy performance which makes it unique, and we will try to perform this in the near future.
Is there any theme that you consider essential for your music?
Having more of a strong beat performance wise.
They had so much energy during the interview and where very happy with the fans. Seeing the love they have for their fans made me happy. They have positive energy and work hard for every presentation.
During the presentation at the KBeat Fest everyone went crazy. They performed almost last, even though everyone was tired because of all the dancing and jumping when they came out everyone’s energy came back. They interacted so much with their fans and even performed their latest song Masquerade. They also performed ‘Con Calma by Daddy Yankyee’! everyone loved it! We could see the passion and commitment. It was amazing hearing them sing in Spanish and a song from Puerto Rico.
